13th July

Last week saw the wiring of the fencing started and the local workers cleared there first hectare.

This week started with meetings in Kampala for the house projects. The first was the EMI (Engineering Missions International) this is a organization that looks after the plans for missions around the world for free. They have a 2 year waiting list here in Kampala so SOS ministries is privileged to fit into the schedule. We talked about the construction of the houses and what they provide in there reports etc. We (Deane, Shannon, Rob, Myself) then went to NYK (Pizza takeaways) for lunch then out to Raffiti children's orphanage to meet a builder. We showed him the plans and looked at his workmanship. Very impressive. The builder (Alfred) is free to get started next week. We are waiting for a quote from him.

Tuesday Deane and I went out to Luweero to meet the Hydrologist to do a survey for water. While there we did another run of the fence. Wednesday we returned back to Luweero with the Grace team and also 4 guys from FBC. While they had a tour of the property the fencing team did another run of the fence. Thursday and Friday we put the teams to work clearing stumps left after the clearing and burning of the Jungle. This was not an easy task with hoe's and axes. Saturday we returned to Mukono for the weekend.
